One team for the whole story
Elena Kay Photography is a Long Island studio built around one idea. Photo, film, and content should come from people who already work together, at a price you can see, at the venue you already booked. We cover Nassau County, Suffolk County, and the city, and we keep showing up for the same families as their story grows.

Hi, I am Elena
I started this studio because I wanted couples to feel calm on the most photographed day of their lives. That means knowing the room, knowing the light, and bringing a team that already trusts each other.
I am a real Long Island person who knows these venues and their staff by name. That is the difference between a stranger with a camera and someone who already knows where to stand.
Our promise
We never show up cold
We scout every venue before your wedding day. We talk to your banquet manager ahead of time. We walk the grounds with you when we can, and over FaceTime or Zoom when we cannot. We pull the property up on Google Maps and Street View, and we check exactly where the sun will be on your date, so we know which corner of the grounds has the good light at your golden hour. We have never walked into a wedding cold, and we are not about to start with yours.
The sun position workflow
We plot your light before you arrive
Every wedding, we look up your venue and your date and we plot exactly where the sun will be through your whole day. We know when your golden hour lands, where the light falls on the grounds at that moment, and which spot gives you the warmest portraits.
At a waterfront venue we plan around the light coming off the water. At a garden venue we find the row of trees that backlights at the right hour. We use a planner that shows the sun and moon path for any location on any future date, and a desktop map mode with Street View so we can preview the arc over your actual venue before we ever visit.
This is why couples notice we always seem to be in the right place. We did the homework before you arrived.

The bride we shoot this year is the mom we shoot in three. We follow the same families from the engagement through the chapters that come after the wedding.
